Hello HimPower Family! Happy and Blessed to be sharing this space with you again. We will seat on our imaginary couch as a family and share a word on wholly conviction. What does it mean for a person to be completely convicted? Sometimes we wear our perfection name tags because in our minds we are not like so and so person who does this and that. In our minds we are living for God completely. Then a day comes, someone walks up to you and reminds you of how something you did unknowingly or out of ignorance hurt them and you find yourself apologizing and explaining yourself. In other times, the person who we may have hurt may never tell us. That is exactly how our relationship with God is for the Bible reminds us “For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God” Romans 3:23 (KJV). This is a courteous reminder that none of us is perfect after all.
The Psalmist in Psalm 139:23-24 (KJV) “Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts: And see if there be any wicked way in me and lead me in the way everlasting”. This should be a confession that runs through our hearts daily. Proverbs 16:6-8 (KJV) tells us that “By mercy and truth iniquity is purged: and by the fear of the Lord men depart from evil”. In Joshua 14: 7-13, Caleb reminded Joshua of the promise Moses made to him because he (Caleb) had wholly followed the Lord. In verse 14, “Hebron therefore became the inheritance of Caleb the son of Jephunneh the Kenezite unto this day, because that he wholly followed the Lord God of Israel” and in verse 15b, the Bible mentioned that the land of Hebron had rest from war after Caleb took over the land as his inheritance.
Oh! does that mean that incomplete obedience is keeping some blessings away from us? So, picture what your life would look like if you wholly allow God to convict you such that you become certain that you are following Him wholly. This is where we invite the Holy Spirit into our lives as our teacher, counselor and advocate “he will teach you everything and will remind you of everything I have told you”. (John 14:26b).
Selah! (Pause, breathe and reflect on what you just read!).
